Mother Riccarda

Venerable Mother Riccarda may well end up as our very own parish saint having been baptised at St. Mary Magdalen. She was declared Venerable in July 2012.

Mother Riccarda joined the Bridgettine Sisters in Rome and did much to shelter Jews during the Second World War. Her fascinating life has been reported on by many publications including the Catholic Herald and the Telegraph as well as the BBC. The Catholic writer Joanna Bogle has also written a book about her life.

A bus has been named after her in Brighton which Fr. Ray took the opportunity to bless in 2012
